Thoughts are powerful. What we think about has a major impact on what kind of person we are and what we do. Allowing ourselves to be carried away by idle thoughts are a waste of a valuable resource at best and sinful at worst. But we dont have to succumb to our worldly nature. God has made us in His image (Genesis 1:27) which includes giving us a free will to chose with what to occupy our minds. As the Apostle Paul exhorted us, "do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:2). The more we look at things from God's perspective, the more we find ourselves conforming to His will. "Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth" (Colossians 3:2). The best way to change your attitude is to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord "if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17).
