The Bible is a gift to mankind from God. It reveals Jesus Christ as our Savior and gives us principles which help us live more abundant lives. Since "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever" (Hebrews 13:8), all Scripture must be consistent with itself. So we should study the whole Bible. Doctrinal errors can happen when passages are taken out of context and given meanings by themselves without the light of the rest of Scripture. The Bible is not some mystical book that needs special skills to understand. God commanded us to take the Bible for what it says, not what we think it says (Revelation 22:18-19). Believers in Jesus Christ do not need anyone to interpret Gods Word for us for the Holy Spirit helps us to understand it (John 14:26). If you want to hear God speaking to you, yield your life to Christ and study His Word.
