The purpose of the Bible is to reveal Jesus Christ to us (John 5:39). The reason Jesus came and why the Lord gave us His Word, the Bible, is the same: so that we may know Him in an everlasting relationship. This is why Jesus is called "The Word of God" (John 1:14, Revelation 19:13). The Bible makes it clear that Jesus is God, our Creator, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1). God loved us so much that He temporarily put aside the glory of Almighty God humbling Himself by coming in the form of a man (Philippians 2:6-8) to die in our place (Romans 5:8): "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).
